Tell us a little bit about yourself
Juanpablo is an artist from Costa Rica who has drawn for as long as he can remember, often for his family. Flower, camera, or cloud, it does not matter to him. He loves seeing the details in things and understanding how they work, and that joy in everyday detail runs all the way through his underwater world.
What should puzzlers look out for?
“Let your imagination flow with the image and the story. Whatever you think is there, it is there. It's your story and your puzzle. I left it open on purpose, so you'll find things you didn't even know were there.”
What do you think people will like most about the puzzle?
The colors and the message within the puzzle. I hope it’ll bring a smile to those who build the puzzle. It’s a message of seeing positivity in everything– something that we all need during this uncertain time.
How many micro-stories are there within your artwork?
I see it as 1 character being manifested in a hundred different ways. Here’s a fun fact: all the characters represent me at one point in my life. So, you’ll find the same character when it’s younger vs. when it’s older. For me, the underlying story is about finding the silver lining to your regular day to day and acknowledging that not everything is always good– and more importantly, you can always find the positive side of things.
