Series 2

I thoroughly enjoyed all three of these puzzles (though my favourite was Shutterbug). As I put the pieces together, I would see the subtle and not-so-subtle changes, and that brought the whole story to life. Whether it's a character that's doing something surprising, or a collection of pieces that bare no resemblance to anything on the "before" image, it kept me guessing and engaged the whole way through. And I really enjoy opening the final comics after putting the image together. It lends a satisfaction to the journey of piecing it all together!

The concept of Odd Pieces puzzles is clever and the reality of it is challenging! I love the art and quality of materials and visual humour throughout the picture, as does my 10-year-old, although his ADHD keeps him from engaging with it for more than 10-15 minutes at a time, so building the puzzle has become a longer-term goal than it might normally be. My only irkiness is that the narrative/conundrum could've been better set-up in the comic—I'm still not super clear on what is going on or the exact nature of the mystery that needs solving. Overall, though, a unique ludic experience!

Shutter bug was by far the most intriguing as the pic5ure was so busy with colors, characters and items so densely packed. Im very happy they are going with such a wide variety of artists for their art so it all isnt similar. Have recommended it to everyone I can. I appreciate how durable the pieces are as well. Customer service is fantastic as well, one puzzle had some defects and they were quick to process a replacement.

First of all kudos to the designers for creating a novel way to approach jigsaw puzzles. After ordering a 3-puzzle set (because who can pass up a discount?) we finally dug into Astro Gastro.

The setup is neat. I read the instructions aloud to the family and we started sorting through pieces, but immediately ran into two problems with them:

1) On seven of the pieces, the image layers (front sides) had become uncoupled from their backing (back sides). (Or perhaps were never joined to begin with; I didn't see any dry glue anywhere.) I solved this with some Elmer's glue, but it took a while to find the matches.
2) In one corner of the board, it looks like the cardboard layers for the backing had gotten wrinkled during the press, which meant that they never quite joined flush. At first I thought this was water damage, but examining the back sides shows the wrinkles pretty clearly. This issue led to the lower right corner of the puzzle getting pretty messy. This would have been a worse problem if it wasn't confined to the edge pieces.

Overall though, we're having fun, just hoping the designers can solve these manufacturing hiccups.
